American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists
St. John's University Student Chapter
Misson
The mission of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.
The main purpose as a student chapter is to provide means for student pharmacists to grow their character professionally and academically via leadership opportunities, patient care projects, professional activities, and social networking.
Meet Our Leaders
APhA-ASP is the birthplace of some of the most hard-working, impressive, talented, and dedicated student pharmacists. We would like to introduce you to some of our chapter's amazing leaders who will bring this organization to even greater heights.
Strengthen Your Leadership
APhA-ASP members can participate as active leaders in a variety of patient care projects and events to develop their skills and give back to the pharmaceutical profession. The association offers specialized workshops, training sessions, and appointed positions within the chapter and national level. Get involved today!
Develop Your Leadership & Network
APhA-ASP members enjoy educational opportunities designed to increase knowledge and keep up with the latest health care information. Members are also invited to attend the Mid-year Regional and Annual Meetings to meet members with similar professional interests across the nation.
Advance Patient Care
The more you are informed of the current drugs and treatments, the better prepared you are to help your patients. APhA-ASP members gain hands-on experience in community outreach through altruism and volunteering at patient care and service projects with our chapter committees. Ask an officer for more information.
Advocate For Your Profession
As the umbrella pharmacy association, APhA-ASP is the only national organization that represents the unified voice of all pharmacists. APhA-ASP provides numerous opportunities to be involved on the local, regional, and national levels. Become part of the organization that works on health care legislation and regulations to increase the policy makers' awareness of the pharmacist's role in health care.
Receive Scholarship & Awards
APhA-ASP offers extensive scholarship and award opportunities within the chapter and national level that celebrate commitment to excellence in education and recognize outstanding involvement in the organization and pharmacy profession.
Gain A Competitive Edge
Become a member to unlock exclusive access to unique experiences, career information, professional publications, discounted registration fees to annual conferences, and resources designed to meet your needs as you advance in your professional career. The St. John's University chapter also provides additional support and perks to paid members as tokens of appreciation for their loyalty and dedication to the association.
Be Part Of A Change
One of the greatest aspects of APhA-ASP is the ability for members to connect directly with patients through community service and outreaches. Patient care projects allow members to utilize what they have learned in the classroom in a real world setting with real patients and are avenues for professional growth for student pharmacists. There are seven different committees to choose from, so there is no doubt a match for you!
Cannot decide? Do not worry! APhA-ASP hosts many events throughout the academic year! Make sure to keep up with us so that you will not miss an activity.
Lead, Give Back, Inspire, & Have Fun
APhA-ASP focuses on good academics, community service, leadership, professional development, and patient care. Most important of all, the Academy strives to promote the profession of pharmacy by motivating student pharmacists to lead, advocate, and bring out the best of themselves.
We are more than just another student/professional association. We are APhA-mily!
